Ross started a new series with us this morning, which has been uploaded to the Sermons page of the website! We are looking at 2 Corinthians, and Ross started by focussing on Paul’s authority as an Apostle and what that means for us. It was so encouraging to meet this morning, and also to have new visitors.
Growth is one of life’s most revealing mysteries. The way all living things grow testifies to the glory and majesty of God our creator. In the New Testament, the concept of growth is often applied to our lives, both individual and communal. As we continue to grow in number at Flooding Creek, I am highly encouraged, while also reminded that we must ensure that Christ is our “head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.” (Col 2:19b)
My prayer is that, as we grow in number, we may also grow in wisdom, in accordance with God’s will. I pray that we will learn from each other and appreciate each other’s differences, and even learn to love each other despite them! We are each being conformed to the likeness of Christ, and there are many parts to the body, so as a community of believers, I pray that we may pastor each other well, and prayerfully live communally in obedience to the pattern of teaching which was passed down to us by the apostles.
To that end, I’m keen as a bean for growth groups to recommence tomorrow! We’ll be continuing our study on Isaiah through Ridley Certificates for Small Groups. Ryan and Samm are kindly hosting at 7pm on Mondays, and we are hosting at 5:30pm on Tuesdays. Sign up to our mailing list by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information!
In Christ, Paul.
